Everyone really enjoyed this year's Wellbeing Day. The groups moved to different stations throughout the day and enjoyed baking, clay art, PE games, face-painting, mindfulness and yoga, Teach the Teacher dance class and much more, with a few treats to keep everyone chilled!
The Students Council came up with a great initiative to encourage recycling. They planned a recycling day for everyone and the children worked in groups to upcycle old unwanted items and recyclables. We were the lucky recipients of a government grant to purchase equipment, to cover days out, in-school workshops and outdoor learning experiences, that will develop the children's learning across STEAM subjects. We had a fantastic day out at St. Patrick's college, hosted by Heritage Ireland. The children experienced a range of hands-on learning activities based on our heritage.
There were celebrations in both classrooms this term. Our first class girl won the Fairtrade Art competition, and our fifth class girl won a Carlow History project competition. They attended award ceremonies with their families and we are very proud of them. A huge congratulations to them both!
