About Us

Our Lady’s National School is a modern, welcoming school set in the heart of the County Carlow countryside. We have two classes ranging from Junior Infants to 6thclass. We also have a full-time Special Education Teacher and Special Needs Assistant. Our Board of Management, part-time secretary, caretaker and cleaner make up the team. Joining us throughout the year are our tin-whistle teacher Mary, our Music Generation leader Marian, and GAA coach Don. Every second year we participate in Funky Kids – a singing, dancing, drama and confidence-building workshop – with Denis and Olivia, which concludes with a spectacular show. Our school is greatly supported by our wonderful Parents Association who fundraise energetically every year and who also organise the Annual Nurney Field Day. Each classroom and SET room have an interactive whiteboard and each classroom is equipped with an extensive library, and laptops for the children’s educational use. Surrounded by nature, we have a beautiful garden with Buddy Bench, basketball court, large playing field, a veggie patch, colourful shelter, and playground equipment.
