A new Parents Association fundraiser, a Plant and Seed Sale, took place over the May Bank Holiday. It was extremely well organised, and a huge success. Many thanks to the Parents Association, in particular Brian and Leighanne Doyle for hosting the event.
The children had great fun organising and running a jumble sale in aid of the Froebel HOPE Teacher Education Partnership. Thanks for all the very generous donations. We are delighted to report that we raised €1,072 for this very worthwhile cause. A huge achievement for a school our size!
On Saturday 25th March nine of our 5th and 6th class received the sacrament of confirmation at St. Patrick's Church in Newtown. It was a beautiful ceremony, delivered by Fr. Shem, with all the boys and girls involved. They did a great job reading, singing and bringing gifts to the altar.
The children are having great fun learning about healthy eating and sampling the delicious fruit and vegetables sent by Food Dudes.
On Wednesday Fr. Shem came to the school for our Service of Light celebration in preparation for Confirmation. The children discussed their pledges, attended confession and spoke to Fr. Shem about the sacrament of Confirmation and what it means to them.
